Remarks |
1. George Frederic Pardon was an industrious booksellers' hack, rarely appearing before the public under
his own name. He frequently used the pen name "Captain Crawley". In the estimation of "Cavendish" he wrote
"the worst book on games ever published." It's often erroneously believed that Pardon was also the
author of Backgammon: Its History and Practice.
2. The books title on the cover is "Draughts and Backgammon", while it's "A Handbook Of Draughts With A Chapter On Backgammon" in the inside. 3. Pages 76 - 95 are about backgammon. |
